Sunrise Lexington Statement for Black Lives Matter

Updated: Feb 28

Sunrise Lexington will always support Black Lives Matter and on this Tuesday we would like to show our solidarity to the movement and all those who have lost their lives due to police brutality. We do not and will not ever condone any type of racism because all people, regardless of race, skin color, and gender, deserve to be treated equally. The events that have happened recently are not isolated incidents and are the result of the systematic racism ingrained in this country for generations. We as the future of this country have to come together and fight so that what has happened with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many others, does not happen again. These were not isolated incidents and we must remember that change must happen. Educate yourself, sign petitions, go to protests, and donate if you can.
